Snickers the Singing Dachshund

He's a mixed 3/4 Tan-and-Black Dachshund with 1/8 Boxer, 1/8 Boston Terrier, and maybe some Percheron. Snickers lives with his best friend Doug Love, his Aunt Roseerin, and a number of Fish, trees and plants in Greenbelt, Maryland. He came through Dachshund Rescue of North America

Snickers has a nice, deep voice, and frequently calls out to neighbor dogs. He has been told to not do that before dawn, and largely behaves. He has a tremendous voice range. Rather than being a talking dog like predecessors Foxy and Benjamin, he is a singing dog! And Doug sings back to him.

We first thought he was part Bassett from his large pronate front paws. He has the standard black and cream markings of a Dachshund. (Especially those spots above his eyes. Naturalist Sherna Comerford says "his paws are crossed and his eyes are dotted".) He loves to dig, and helps Doug in the yard. He came partially trained and completely housebroken, and Doug is trying to train him further. Doug puts a small light on his collar and takes him cave exploring, but Snickers doesn't have much interest in that yet. He had a few bad habits, such as growling at people he hasn't been properly introduced to, but he is getting over it.
