Foxy the Dog
A Pomeranian, lived with his best friend Doug Love and a number of Fish, trees and plants in Greenbelt, Maryland. He was one of the best dogs in the house, and definitely the liveliest, always beating a sand-filled dog-shaped doorstop named Snog in this category. He had a fine command of the German language, with a vocabulary of one word, "Auf", which appropriately means Out! He also had his own language, which is hard to put into words; but we tried.

He seems to have been raised by cats, and acted like them, except when he barks a greeting at Doug.

A nice picture of fluffy little brown Foxy the Dog
Jane Love with her dog Benjamin and Doug's
little brown Foxy. Foxy came to us in September 1997, just as we were returning from a church retreat. Our neighbor Judy Scheinhaus brought him over and asked us if we wanted a dog. Doug was thinking of getting his own bedwarmer, and Mom had been praying for a companion for her dog Benjie, so we kept him overnight. Judy came back the next day and took him back for a week, then brought him back the next weekend to stay. When Mom was at home, Foxy didn't bark all day as he did at Judy's.
Foxy outlived his friend Benjamin by 3 years, and outlived Mom by 1 year. He stopped eating on July 1, 2008, and although Doug tried to feed him, he died in Doug's arms on July 2, and on July 4,2008, was buried under the Forsythia in the back where he liked to hide on hot days. Many of Doug's friends attended and read dog poetry, then had a group howl at the end.

Foxy was a Senior Dog. His old nametag from Olney or Baltimore said "Foxy Brown". His Rabies Tag from the Sandy Spring Vet. Hospital is 960530.
