Atholton Seventh Day Adventist Church

The Atholton Seventh Day Adventist Church was founded in 1957 in the basement of the Sickler home in Montgomery County, MD., with the idea of sharing the Adventist Message with the people of Howard County and the New Towns of Columbia. The school was completed in 1958. The congregation met in the gym until the sanctuary was completed in 1972. It is located next to the Chesapeake Conference of Seventh Day Adventists office, just off U.S. 29 between MD 32 and Owen Brown Road. picture of Atholton Church when the trees are in bloom.

Take the Seneca Road exit west, then go north on Martin road to the drive between church signs. At the top of the hill, turn left to reach the church parking lot.

Atholton Christian School

The 10 grade church school is known as one of the best private schools in the county, and is 100% drug-free. It boasts a Plato computer learning system and an integrated network of computers.

The Faith Blazers Pathfinder Club

The Atholton Faith Blazers Pathfinder Club is a scouting organization that participates in Chesapeake Conference, Columbia Union, and North American Division events, from pinewood derby races to camporees of all sizes. Among the staff are many capable people, including Doug Beil, Elder Art Brooks, and Doug Love, who is known as the "Cave Man" to Pathfinders everywhere.

Outreach

Several other churches have been started by Atholton members, including Triadelphia and Brinklow in Maryland, and Needmore in Pennsylvania. A prison ministry at the Maryland House of Corrections in Jessup has already baptised 6 prisoners, and is organized as The Little Flock Company of Seventh Day Adventists.

Atholton participates in most of the outreach programs of the Seventh Day Adventist denomination, including Ingathering, cooking school, the 5 Day Plans to quit smoking, and international telecasts on the Hope Channel.

Atholton is also the host and frequent winner of the Chesapeake Conference Bible Bowl.

Services are held every Saturday morning from 10:45 to 12:30, starting with a contemporary praise time. Everyone is welcome.
