Stop the wars! Bring all U.S. troops home now.
Violence is a self-defeating policy. Nonviolence is the key to humanity's future. Under Article 2(4) of the U.N. Charter, it is illegal to use force, or to threaten force, against other countries. The U.S. military is stationed in over 150 countries around the globe. Militarism does not solve problems. Empire is contrary to democracy. All U.S. troops should come home, unless the people of a particular country have specifically chosen the presence of U.S. troops in a fair and open referendum.

Overhaul the tax code to achieve steeply graduated, progressive taxation.
The "single tax" plan of Henry George (author of Progress & Poverty) offers an excellent and fair basis for tax reform.

  Fund human needs.
The federal government should not spend resources on weapons of war nor should we subsidize big corporations or bail out financial institutions. Instead, we should meet basic human needs, such as good education, health care, decent housing, a living wage, and free sustainable public transportation.

Fund sustainable energy; protect the environment, especially clean air & clean water. Move from an energy system that relies on polluting fossil fuels, to a sustainable energy future based on renewable energy (e.g., solar).

  Reform the election system.
End the corrupt "campaign finance" conflict of interest whereby big money dominates elections and public policy. End unfair laws (e.g., ballot access restrictions) that exclude alternative voices! Elections should be free and open, based on choice voting or proportional representation.
